On 23 August 2014 the Cranston Heights Fire Company (Station-14), as part of the New Castle County Special Operations Hazardous Materials Decontamination Team, participated in a Haz-Mat/Decon Drill, at "Occidental Chemical" Chemical Plant (DE Rt-9) located in Delaware City. The drill consisted of two sinairios; Crude-Oil Tanker derailment and fire, as well as a Chlorine Tank Car with a leak. (Hitchens)
