Hazardous Materials Decontamination Response Drill: General Chemical
Wednesday, November 8, 2017
On 29 March 2014 the Cranston Heights Fire Company, as part of the New Castle County Special Operations Hazardous Materials Decontamination Team, participated in a Haz-Mat/Decon Drill, at the former General Chemical site in Claymont. The drill simulated a tractor trailer leaking, after being involved in a Motor Vehicle Collision. Members of the NCC Haz-Mat/Decon Team, were assigned in decontaminating the Haz-Mat Technicians who contained the chemical leaking from the container. Also practiced during this drill were the team's set-up, safety and support functions. Once the drill was completed, the Claymont Fire Company hosted a critique and luncheon for all involved.
