"MARSHALLTON, Del., July 1 (1920) - The Cranston Heights Fire Company has placed a contract for a motor-driven chemical fire engine, with the United States Fire Apparatus Company, of Wilmington. When the contract was give there were less than $50 in the Cranston Company treasury. By giving bakes, festivals and other social affairs, the company has been able to raise sufficient funds to fully pay for the apparatus when it is delivered next Saturday. The fire company was organized November 16, 1919 and incorporated January 31, 1920."
