"FIRE DAMAGES HOME"

"The Red Cross was providing aid to a Hockessin family Friday after a fire damaged the first floor of their home. Hockessin Fire Company was called to the Hawthore neighborhood fire at 8:45 a.m. Friday. Firefighters found smoke coming from the house and called additional crews. The fire was largely contained to the first floor. No one was injured. Cranston Heights, Mill Creek, Elsmere, Talleyville and Minquas fire companies in Delaware and Avondale (Pa.) also responded."
