Around 9:30 pm, June 24, we were alerted with Mill Creek, Elsmere, Minquas, Belvedere, Hockessin and Five Points Fire for a residential structure fire in the 200 block of Rhode Island Ave in Brookland Terrace. Squad 14 arrived to find smoke showing from the eaves of the residence. Crews were able to hold the fire to its area of origin and units were on the scene for about an hour. The state Fire Marshall was on scene to investigate the cause.
