Second Animal Rescue Assist in Two Days

Sunday, September 30, 2018

In the afternoon of August 18th, Rescue 14 made another response with the New Castle County Special Operations to assist the Claymont Fire Company. This time, the response was with the High Angle Confined Space Rescue Team on an animal rescue. The crew assisted with operations to remove a deer who had fallen into an old well earlier in the morning in the Arden section of the Claymont’s district. Once the Animal was safely tranquilized for its safety and the safety of the crews, it was removed from the well and turned over to a veterinarian for evaluation. This was the second animal rescue our crews had been involved in in two days.
