We regret to share the passing of Life Member, Deputy Chief Emeritus, and Past President of tHe Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Edward Michael Rush, Jr.
Mike was legendary in the Delaware Fire Service. He was well known and was part of the various State and Regional associations, even at times if as only an advisor or mentor. Many considered him an excellent example of a mentor and member of the fire service to follow. Mike also often contributed locally to fire companies, even being named honorary member of several across the State, including Cranston Heights in 1992. Mike always had a smile, asked about family, and was willing to talk about the fire service at no end. He ran Rush Uniform, Inc., where he was able to see many responders, to share stories and talk in addition to fitting them for uniforms. He will be sorely missed in New Castle County, Delaware, and the National brother and sisterhood of the fire service.
We will share any information surrounding services when it comes available.
