Alfred E. Ogden, age 20, was seriously injuried while responding to a alarm on 15 January 1926. He succumb to his injuries the following day (16 January 1926). He was one of three CHFCo Firefighters who died as a result when the fire engine on which they were responding to an alarm, skidded and overturned. Five others were also injured in the accident. Also killed were CHFCo Members Edward Ainswoth, 19 and David Hook, 20. Alfred Ogden's name is placed on the DVFA Firemen's Memorial located in Dover, Delaware. "The Monument is a recognition of the Firefighters of the State of Delaware who have lost their lives in the line of duty."
