George A. Haigh was a Charter Member of the CHFCo. On January 20th 1933, he was Killed in the Line of Duty as a result of injuries he received after battling a house fire in the neighborhood of Brookland Terrace. At the time of his death, George A. Haigh was the sitting President of the Cranston Heights Fire Company #1. George Haigh's name has been placed on the DVFA Firemen's Memorial located in Dover, Delaware. "The Monument is a recognition of the Firefighters of the State of Delaware who have lost their lives in the line of duty."
