On 27 Feburary 2004 at 13:56 hours, the Cranston Heights Fire Company (Station-14) along with other Mutual Aid Units from New Castle County were dispatched, via the NCC 911 Center, for a "Working" Residential Fire, located at 2201 Inman Drive, in the development of Faulkland Heights. (Hitchens)
Elsmere, Five Points and Cranston Heights Fire Companies responded. They requested assistance from the Wilmington Fire Dept. Chemical 7 (a large capacity foam unit)
A large gasoline fuel tanker caught fire during fuel transfer. The pump behind the tractor was being operated to transfer the fuel. The driver was seriously burned but sadly eventually died from his injuries.
